According to the german news paper Bild, Hakan Calhanoglu is about to leave the Rossoneri next summer. Hakan Calhanoglu, the turkish international and right midfielder of Milan should join RedBull Leipzig, who are currently in 5th place this Bundesliga-season. Their sport director Ralf Rangnick is in contact with him for quite a few months allready.
As we’ve seen during the last games, Hakan could really help Milan to get better results. And he has definitely played a big part in Milans recent 6-games unbeaten run. This season, he has scored 2 goals, and he has made 3 assists. Calhanoglu could be a player to hold for Gattuso.
However there’s a reason that this transfer couldn’t happen. Although Calhanoglu would have better chances for european football next season, he currently earns 5 million euros at Milan. And the highest, RB Leipzig is able to pay is 4.5 million euros. So Calhanoglu would earn 500’000 Euros more per year at Milan, than he would at Leipzig. And Calhanoglus current value is at around 17.5 million euros, Mirabelli would push this fee to around 25million euros who Leipzig probably isn’t keen about paying. As with so many players of Milan, it would depend on if Gattuso and his players reach the European Leagues, preferably the UEFA Champions League. So let’s hope that Gatusso can do the unthinkable. Forza Milan!
