It may only be August, but it seems Milan manager Marco Giampaolo is ready to put his Christmas tree up. It has been rumoured that after the defeat to Udinese, the Italian is considering moving to a 4-3-2-1 formation – nicknamed a Christmas Tree given it’s shape.
It certainly feels like a cold winter already for fans after Milan failed to register a shot on target at the weekend.
Paolo Maldini is set to play an important role in this current pantomime, adopting the responsibilities of Santa Claus to bring Giampaolo new players with the transfer window set to close very soon. Angel Correa, rumoured to be close, could be the Angel that lights up this proposed Christmas tree.
The two AMCs, rumoured to be Hakan Calhanoglu and Suso in it’s first try out, will drift wide giving the side width and creating a 4-3-3 – creating an element of familiarity and recent traditionalism to Milan’s attack.
With the festivities of the new Serie A season fully underway, the pressure is already on as Milan fans expect a cracker of a performance against Brescia at the weekend.
