Exclusive Interview with Lady Andrade

In an exclusive interview with acmilanswisswomen, Milan midfielder and Colombian International, Lady Andrade spoke about her expectations with AC Milan, her style of play, and the Colombia Women’s National team.

Acmswomen: You were part of the team during the preseason training last year, but you could not participate due to some documentation problem. How prepared are you to start the season with the team?

Lady: I have been training with the national team since a few months ago and that makes me well prepared physically, so I get there with the pace of competition.

Acmswomen: You are nicknamed as the ‘Female Ronaldinho’ because of your skill set and technical abilities. Who is your role model?, and what should fans expect from you this season?

Lady: I have always admired Ronaldinho a lot, I think he does magic with his feet. I really like his style of play and it looks a bit like mine. You will see an unbalancing player, fast, with a vision of the game. I will bring all my experience and talent to the team.

Acmswomen: It is known that you are an attack-minded player who could play in midfield and up front. What is your favorite position?

Lady: It depends on the team’s style of play. In both positions I feel comfortable.

Acmswomen: Previously you played in Spain, Finland, the United States, Turkey and now in Italy. What do you know about Serie A? and do you think you can fit well?

Lady: Last season I was with the team, unfortunately the lack of papers in the documentation denied me the opportunity of playing, I saw some friendly matches. The game is very tactical and physical, the players have a good physical display.

Acmswomen: Last season, Milan finished third and reached the semifinal of Coppa Italia. What are your expectations for the next season?

Lady: I am a winning-mentality player, my goal is to be the champion of the tournament and get the “ticket” for the Champions League.

Acmswomen: At the international level, you participated in the World Cup of 2011 and 2015 with Colombia, and also in the Olympic Games in 2012 and 2016. Unfortunately, Colombia could not reach the World Cup in France. Do you think Colombia can reach the next World Cup?

Lady: We all have the conditions to obtain the “ticket”. We are going to prepare hard to return to the World Cup.

Big thank you to Lady Andrade for taking the time to answer our questions.
