Juventus vs Milan: Preview + Livestreams

[Livestreams are at the end of Preview]

It hasn’t been a glorious year by any means so far for Milan, as the Rossoneri are currently placed 14th in the Serie A table nearly nearly 1/3rd into the 2019 season.

This time last season, the Devils had amassed 21 points (which would have them currently placed 7th in Serie A if they were able to replicate that total again).

Things aren’t getting any easier for recently appointed coach Stefano Pioli and his side, as they go up Italian giants Juventus today in Turin. Soon followed with Napoli who’ll arrive at the San Siro for the next match on the 23rd of this month.

Historically, Pioli hasn’t done so well against the Old Lady. In fact, in the five matches against them between his management positions with Fiorentina, Lazio, and Inter; Pioli’s sides have failed to come up with a single goal (or win/draw) against Juve.

Pioli on field

It’s in the hopes of all Milan fans that Pioli can turn his luck against the Bianconeri around today in Juventus Stadium; but it’s no secret the club is in a bit of a crisis mode.

Meanwhile Juventus have won 4 out of their last 5 league matches, and sit two points behind league leaders Inter (31 pts.) in second place in Serie A. It seems Maurizio Sarri has finally been finding his groove with his new black and white side.

Juventus lead Italy in points gained from goals scored in the last 30 minutes of play, while contrarily Milan have given up the most amount of points (7) in Italy from goals allowed in the same time frame.

Costa vs Kessie

Amid the formation decisiveness drama, recent rumors have shown a bit of controversy within the Milan squad.

Midfielder Franck Kessie, who’s been a staple of Milan’s game-plan (for better or worse at times) since his arrival from Atalanta in 2017, has been left out of the squad in whats certainly one of the Rossoneri’s more important games of the season so far.

The apparent reasoning behind the decision was “Disciplinary Issues”. Obviously according to Milan management, in agreement with Pioli, Kessie’s performances and tardiness in training couldn’t go unpunished.

With Kessie’s absence accounted for, here are the predicted line-ups for both sides (per hardtackle.com).

Milan (3-4-2-1)

Donnarumma – Rodriguez, Romagnoli, Duarte – Hernandez, Krunic, Bennacer, Conti -Calhanoglu, Suso – Piatek.

Juventus (4-3-1-2)

Szczesny – Sandro, Bonucci, Rugani, Cuadrado – Matuidi, Pjanic, Ramsey – Costa – Higuain, Dybala.
