Milan Derby: Preview + Livestreams!

One of the most anticipated matches of every season is upon us, Derby della Madonnina. It’s no secret Milan may have some difficulty stopping the Nerazzurri, as Inter are the only team in Serie A to win in all three of their match-days so far.

But a victory would ignite the Devils confidence, and it would also give the fans more of the same confidence in Giampaolo. The accredited “maestro” has yet to inspire a truly impressive display on the pitch, despite earning two victories out of the first three matches.

The formation and positioning crisis continues, as there have been several reports all claiming different formations and lineups.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claimed the formation will be a 4-3-2-1 formation which includes Ante Rebic behind Krzysztof Piatek. However, Sky Italia (via MilanNews.itreport that Giampaolo has been considering a switch to a three man defense; in light of Davide Calabria’s suspension.

Yet a third report from Sky suggests that Lucas Paqueta is keen to start as part of the midfield in a 4-3-3, with Ante Rebic playing on the wing. While personally I believe it would be a good decision starting both Paqueta and Rebic, the player I’d like to see given a chance is Rafael Leao.

It might be too pressuring of a match to start Leao, but it’d be a great opportunity for him to get a real chance in front of many Milan fans. His speed and energy could be an excellent bolster to the attack, especially in the second half.

Stomping out Inter’s dominant start to the season would be an excellent opportunity for Milan to prove their ability to contend with the best in Italy, and possibly earn a Champions League spot.

Milan legend Kaka seems to agree, “If they want to win the league, its important they win this game”, he told Omnisport, “Inter have started the season very well, but in my opinion Milan will win… As a Milan supporter I’m expecting that Milan can win something this year and at least come back into the Champions League.”
