Milan vs. Sassuolo Preview + Livestreams!!

Match Time: Saturday 12:00 P.M. Eastern US, 6:00 P.M. (Italy time). GMT + 1

Match Location: Stadio San Siro, Milan, Italy.

It’s serie A time rossoneri! Our beloved Milan, after a not so brilliant performance against Lazio in Coppa Italia, will face Sassuolo, in a key match for the 26th fixture of Serie A. Sassuolo have won only one of their last ten games in Serie A (1 win, 4 draws, 5 losses) and are currently in the eleventh position of the table, while Milan is unbeaten in their last eight Serie A games (5 wins, 3 draws).

Further, Milan have won three of the last four home matches against the Neroverdi in Serie A, also Milan are undefeated in their last 5 matches against Sassuolo in all competitions. Also, the rossoneri in Serie A have scored at least 3 goals in their last 3 matches and have kept a clean sheet in their last 3 home matches.

Moreover, Gattuso spoke in the prematch conference:

  • About the match: “We have to take it one game at a time. We have to focus only on Sassuolo, it’s a crucial game. They have important players that know how to interpret De Zerbi’s idea of play. We have to be wary but most importantly not think too much about what’s at stake for us and later we will see how far we go“.
  • About the squad situation: “We proved to be fragile up till december, right now we have achieved some continuity, we have to keep it up, this should be our driving force right now. We have 14 finals, we have to prepare them with desire and concentration“.
  • About Biglia and Cutrone: “Lucas was and still is an important player, we have to put him in condition to play at his best. Cutrone should only think of working hard, when I see a player upset it means he is dedicated, it means he has the spark within and I’m pleased when a player is not satisfied because it helps“.
  • Consideration about Lazio and the comparison with Nereo Rocco: “Against Lazio, we were wrong on a technical level, doing well on a defensive level. But it is not true that we have prepared the match to equalize it, it makes me laugh this thing. We like to defend everyone together, stay in twenty meters, but how do you prepare a match to draw? Comparison with Rocco? I’m proud, he invented the catenaccio and won the Champions League. Our skill must be in keeping what for years made us make the difference, adding something new”.

Additionally, Milan will not change their usual 4-3-3 lineup, maybe there could be a variation because Kessié condition needs to be evaluated, in that case Çalhanoglu would be playing in Franck’s position and one between Castillejo or Borini can go in the winger spot.

On the other side, Sassuolo has been in trouble in the recent matches, also they should have already done enough to beat the drop but a lack of motivation could cost them for

the remainder of the season. Also Duncan will not be available for the match because he is suspended, better for us he’s a dangerous midfielder. It will be also a special match for Locatelli, who will return to San Siro after being part of the club since his childhood. Finally, We will need to keep an eye on Domenico Berardi, because one of his favorite victims is Milan, he scored 7 goals in 8 matches against us.

Finally, there is no easy game at this point and this type of matches are crucial at the end of the season, so its better to win to not worry about possible dropped points. We must respect our opponent and our home court in order to win this match and we’ll be on third place (Inter lost again Cagliari). I hope our guys will give us a great performance, they can do it.
