Krzysztof Piatek has turned down an approach from Crystal Palace as he wants to join a club of a larger stature, claims reports.
The Poland striker has been linked with an exit from AC Milan, after they completed the signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer late last month.
Atletico Madrid are said to be interested in the 24-year old, while Piatek’s former club Genoa are another side to have been turned down.
Mail Online reports that Piatek will only leave Milan for a club with a similar stature to that of Milan, stating that as the reason why the striker turned down Palace.
Roy Hodgson is keen on increasing his squad depth up front in this window, with Everton’s Cenk Tosun also linked with a loan switch this month.
While Piatek would have been a solid signing for Palace, it doesn’t seem as though the club will be able to convince him into moving to Selhurst Park any time soon.
Crystal Palace doesn’t have much of a decision to make if Atletico Madrid do come calling, with the prospect of success in La Liga as well as working with Diego Simeone certain to point him towards the Spanish capital.
